In recent years, numerous art projects have been introduced to various places as a “solution” to social issues. But what role in community has such interventions played in the name of art, and what are the chained effect of them?
Rooftop Institute has invited Japanese artist Rika Aki to share with us her creations and research on Teshima Island, located in Seto Inland Sea, and her experience of running the communal art space “Teshima no Mado”(The window of Teshima). The talk was followed by the screening of “Ansho no Ie” by Hikaru Fuji.
